Eastern Beach

Eastern Beach is a broad residential area on the East Side of Gibraltar, stretching from the base of the Rock down to the beach that shares its name. The beach at Eastern Beach is one of the longest and most accessible in Gibraltar, running along the base of the sand dunes that form part of the airport boundary on the East Side. It is popular with locals and families for swimming and walking, and the beach area has a more open, spacious feel than the small coves at Catalan Bay and Sandy Bay.

The residential properties in Eastern Beach range from older houses and flats closer to the Rock to more modern apartment complexes nearer the beach. The area has grown as a residential zone over the past few decades, attracting a mix of Gibraltar-born residents and expats who want East Side living with easier access to the airport and the main road network. The tunnel connection to the West Side makes commuting to the town centre and border manageable.

Eastern Beach is broadly affordable by Gibraltar standards. Its slightly more suburban character compared to the tightly-knit villages of Catalan Bay and Sandy Bay means there is more property availability and slightly less premium pricing. The proximity to Gibraltar Airport (accessible via the runway crossing on the West Side) is a practical consideration for frequent travellers, though the East Side approach to the airport entrance involves going through the tunnel and then crossing the runway.
