仕組み

The calculator uses the 30% rule, a widely recognised budgeting guideline. It works like this: take your monthly income, subtract all your regular monthly expenses (excluding rent), then multiply the remaining disposable income by 30%. That figure is your maximum recommended monthly rent.

Districts are marked as Affordable when the lower end of their rent range falls within your budget, Stretch when the average rent is within 25% above your maximum, and Out of range for the rest.

よくある質問

What is the 30% rule? +
The 30% rule is a widely used guideline that says you should spend no more than 30% of your gross monthly income on rent. It helps ensure housing costs stay manageable and leave room for savings, food, transport, and other essentials.
Does the calculator include bills? +
No. The calculator uses your rent-only affordability. When budgeting for Gibraltar rentals, factor in utilities (electricity, water, internet) which typically add £100–200/month on top of rent.
What counts as "expenses" in the calculator? +
Include everything you spend monthly except rent: food, transport, subscriptions, phone, savings contributions, loan repayments, and any other regular outgoings. The more accurate this figure, the more useful the result.
